Savanna

If you're thinking about living in Weston, you certainly need to check out Savanna. It's the largest gated community in the city, and it backs up to the Everglades.

Savanna

Welcome to Savanna

So, Savanna is the largest gated community in Weston. There are 2,945 single family homes in here when you count The Hammocks, and it sits on the west side of the city, right up against the Everglades.

Savanna was built by Arvida, and the county shows most of the homes went up between 1999 and 2002, so it's one of the newer parts of Weston. Homes go from around 1,800 square feet up to about 3,800, and the median is about 2,400. The Hammocks has its own association, with 142 smaller homes, most of them around 1,800 square feet.

There are two guard gates, a clubhouse called Savanna Commons with pools and mini golf, eight parks and 88 cul de sacs. Prices can be pretty different from one part of Savanna to the next, so what I would suggest is figure out which section fits you first, then look at the homes.

Working with me

What it's like to work with me in Savanna

If you're buying, I'm going to know the neighborhoods, what homes have actually sold for, and what's coming up next, including homes that aren't on the market yet. When something fits what you're looking for, I'll reach out to you directly so you can see it early.

If you're selling, we'll talk through how you want to bring your home to market, whether that's publicly right away or more privately first. Either way, I'm going to make sure the right buyers see it, and I'll keep you updated the whole way.

A few things I found

Savanna trivia

The county doesn't even call it Savanna. The lots are recorded on Arvida's Sector 2 plats.

The association keeps track of 5,252 swale trees, 901 light poles and 9,640 irrigation heads across the community.

Between Savanna and U.S. 27 there's a 1,185 acre wetland area, and the City actually refers to it as 1185.

Back in 2001, Florida Trend wrote about Arvida offering buyers a clubhouse in what it called Weston's Savanna subsection.
