If you're thinking about living in Weston, you certainly need to check out The Ridges. It's a guard gated community in south Weston with a lakeside clubhouse.

Welcome to The Ridges
So, The Ridges is in the south part of Weston, and the entrance is on South Post Road. There are 1,490 single family homes in here, and every neighborhood has a Ridge name, Heron Ridge, Mahogany Ridge, Laurel Ridge and so on.
Arvida was the master developer and a few different builders did the homes. The county shows most of them went up between 1997 and 1999. You've got everything from around 1,600 square feet to over 3,700, so the price range is pretty wide.
There's a clubhouse with a lakeside pool, basketball, playing fields and a tot lot, and some of the neighborhoods, like Oak Ridge and Mahogany Ridge, have their own gate inside the main gate. What I would suggest is figure out which Ridge fits you first, then look at the homes.

The Ridges trivia
The county doesn't call it The Ridges. The lots are recorded on Arvida's Sectors 8, 9 and 10 plats.
Library Park, near The Ridges, has a history walk. A survey done for Arvida in the 1990s found prehistoric Tequesta sites in Weston, and some of them are preserved in parks like Library Park.
The Ridges Maintenance Association goes back to December 1996, right when the first homes were going up.
